- Loosen up tight clothing.
Approximately 30 minutes prior to your newborn photography session, you should loosen up your baby’s diaper and remove any tight clothing such as socks. This will allow any imprint marks time to dissipate and disappear and avoid any red marks on your newborn that will need to be edited from your photos.
- Bring a sleepy baby.
Newborn photography works best when your newborn is asleep or sleepy for your session. I recommend that you try to keep your baby awake prior and up to a few minutes before the session. This will make your session more enjoyable for you and your newborn.
- Feed your newborn prior to your session.
A newborn with a full tummy of milk is our best model! Make sure you feed and burp your newborn right before your session begins to ensure your newborn is happy and sleepy. You may need to nurse or feed your baby during our session if they’re hungry. If your newborn needs to be nursed I provide a warm, comfortable, and private setting to do so.
- For breastfeeding moms.
If you’re a breastfeeding Mom try to avoid all cruciferous vegetables like broccoli, cauliflower, and cabbage for 2 to 3 days prior to your photography session since these vegetables may cause gas in your newborn.
- Bring props!
Please feel free to bring props to your session. At your session, I will advise you how to get the best shots using your props.
